To your second point, I’m not sure. My first thoughts are no, I don’t think they’re related because hookups don’t involve monetary exchange. But I guess you could define an exchange in many different ways. Maybe it has more to do with power balance? The girl would not be there if the money wasn’t there, but a hookup is more like a mutual goal to get ‘er done.
